Advanced Features

The ABS comes equipped with several standard features, including reinforced side edges, one-inch slots, and ambidextrous articulating weapon platforms. Optional accessories, such as hard-mounted shield lights, ammo pouches, and tourniquet pouches are also available.

MOUNTABLE KYDEX POUCH

The ABS offers optional single AR15 magazine pouches and Gen 7 C-A-T tourniquet pouches that screw mount directly to the rear frame panel.

WEAPON OPERATION

The patent-pending external support and retention frame is manufactured with a distinctive integrated articulating weapon platform positioned at both front edges, designed for use by left and right-handed operators. This first of its kind patent pending framed platform houses a concealable sturdy arm that can be extended, rotated, and then locked in place to port a rifle while the shield is in operation. When not in use or during storage, the arm can be unlocked, rotated, and retracted back into a concealed position.

REINFORCED SIDE EDGES

Both the left and right sides of the rear frame are reinforced with a second layer of riveted Kydex creating an elevated ridge. This reinforced ridge provides a solid contact point allowing the user to clear malfunctions or cycle their weapons without causing unnecessary wear to the edge of the armor.

SLOTS FOR TACTICAL ACCESSORIES

The patent pending rear frame has 1 inch slots located on the top and bottom edges of the rear frame for use with various accessories including straps, d-rings, tactical slings, etc.

SHIELD LIGHTING SYSTEM

The optional TAA-compliant Defender 1000-lumen ABS shield light delivers outstanding LED performance in a durable, flat, low-profile design. Its water-resistant light housing is bolt mounted directly to the front frame and the rear battery pack is securely mounted to the rear frame using a custom designed ABS mount system. A pressure switch attached to the handle activates the multi-mode lighting system. For optimal functionality and protection, the designated light mounting area is strategically positioned at the center mass of the shield, anticipating potential targeting by an adversary.
